5 Ways to Give Back in Westfield During this Thanksgiving Season

5 Ways to Give Back in Westfield During this Thanksgiving Season

By Colleen Davis | Realtor with Keller Williams Realty

Thanksgiving reminds us to be thankful for what we have and helps us reflect on the year that’s passed. It’s the time we gather with family or with friends for a “Friendsgiving,” to break bread, cherish old memories and create new ones.

I’m so grateful for my friends and family, as well as for the Westfield community. Westfield has it all! Everything is at your fingertips - great dining, entertainment, sports & recreation and just a hop on a train to the greatest city in the world.

We are blessed to live in such a beautiful and abundant community. And it’s for that reason that we must remember to give back during this Thanksgiving season.

Here are 5 ways you can give back this Thanksgiving. I hope you can do one or even all five!

  1. Stop & Shop Food Drive

On Saturday, November 17th, 2018, buy your Thanksgiving essentials and buy a few extra items to donate to their Food Drive. Food Drive is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., list of what they’re looking for will be announced day of. They typically take items like canned goods.

The Holy Trinity Parish Food Pantry is always looking for donations but they also always run low. Food in particular that tend to go fast are:

  • Rice
  • Soup
  • One quart powdered milk (they tend to come in boxes of 10. They do not need the 20 oz containers, those are hard to give away)

They are open Monday through Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. to accept donations.
