Background
The Parks and Recreation Strategic Plan, adopted by the Town Council in January 2020, is the Town’s first-ever simultaneous study of the entire parks system and recreational facilities, and provides a vision to guide the future development, operations, and programs of the Town’s parks, recreation, open space, and trail system.
A key component of the Strategic Plan was capturing as much public input as possible to guide the Town’s long-term vision. Thanks to the more than 1,600 participants who casted nearly 40,000 votes and provided 2,400 comments on the Strategic Parks Plan survey. In addition, two in-person meetings were held and well attended by several hundred residents and 20 stakeholder groups.
