The Westfield Police Department, in honor of CPR & AED Awareness Week, is hosting free community CPR courses in June.
“Currently, about 9 in 10 people who have cardiac arrest outside the hospital die. But CPR can help improve those odds. If it is performed in the first few minutes of cardiac arrest, CPR can double or triple a person's chance of survival.” www.cdc.gov
We are offering the Family & Friends CPR* Course. This course teaches the lifesaving skills of adult Hands-Only CPR, adult CPR with breaths, child CPR with breaths, adult and child AED use, infant CPR, and mild and severe airway block for adults, children, and infants. Skills are taught in a dynamic group environment using the American Heart Association’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which provides students with the most hands-on CPR practice time possible.
