The Westfield Town Council approved an increase in the number of hours of free parking downtown and the creation of free 'express spaces' for people parking for 15 minutes or less at the June 20 town council meeting.
Both changes are the result of recommendations by the Mayor's Downtown Task Force and discussions among the Public Safety, Transportation & Parking Committees. Ordinance 2084 changes the hours of paid parking downtown for shoppers and visitors from the current times of 9am to 7pm to 10am to 6pm, effective immediately. Signs and stickers in the downtown lots are being changed. The ordinance will also allow the Westfield Police Department to designate certain parking spaces as 15-minute 'express spaces' for those picking up takeout orders from Downtown restaurants or running quick errands. There are three new and exciting building projects currently under construction in Downtown Westfield that promise to bring new rental options and foot traffic to our downtown commercial district. All of these buildings are transit friendly, conveniently located within easy walking distance to the train and bus stations, and offer great appeal for a wide variety of renters -- including young professionals, empty nesters, and single parents who want to remain in the area. In addition, all three properties represent significant investments in our future, are modern and architecturally appealing, and blend into the downtown character. They represent improvements to currently underutilized properties located at highly visible locations within our downtown area. They will provide easy access to the goods, services and entertainment that Downtown Westfield provides as well as parking.

The restaurant welcomed the third owners in its history in October 2016 when Stephane Bocket, a familiar face and long serving Maitre d’Hotel, joined with partner Michael Cowan to purchase the business from Didier Jouvenet. Planning for the renovation began well before the temporary closing with big ideas and dreams. For years Stephane had been waiting his turn to run this French fine dining institution. His dream was to give it more of a feel of Provence.Continue reading
