Downtown Westfield Corporation (DWC), a Neighborhood Champion of Small Business Saturday, reminds everyone that in celebration of the fifth annual Small Business Saturday®, it’s a big day for everyone in downtown Westfield.
It is a day dedicated to supporting small businesses on one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year. On November 29, the DWC asks you to shop small at your favorite local stores and help fuel the economy. When you shop small at independent, locally owned businesses, $68 of every $100 you spend stays right in your community, supporting local organizations and services. When you shop at a national chain, $43 of every $100 comes back to the community.
However while convenient, shopping online adds nothing to the local economy. On Small Business Saturday, American Express cardholders will receive up to three $10 statement credit on purchases of $10 or more for up to $30 in statement credits per registered card. For details, visit www.shopsmall.com for participating businesses.
When we shop small, it will be huge. If you love Westfield, shop downtown on November 29! Enjoy entertainment on Small Business Saturday sponsored by Downtown Westfield Corporation including: Santa & Mrs. Claus strolling downtown from 10 am to noon, The Harmonics singing downtown from 4-6 pm, and NJ Workshop for the Arts Brass Quartet playing throughout downtown from 1 to 3 pm. Be sure to stop by to support local businesses and receive Shop Small® giveaways like tote bags, buttons and balloons too.
