Shakespeare's "The Merry Wives of Westfield" to be performed in Mindowaskin Park, Sept.3-5

Troupe of Friends and the Westfield Recreation Department will
present William Shakespeare's "The Merry Wives of Westfield
(Windsor)" for their annual Labor Day production at the Gazebo in Mindowaskin Park, adjacent to Town Hall in Westfield, NJ.

Joseph Penczak directs this production, set in Westfield in 1961.
The story follows Sir John Falstaff as he tries to woo two wealthy
Westfield wives.  The wives take advantage of the knight's
over-confidence and find unique ways to humiliate him and also keep their husbands' jealousies in check.   The farcical, slap-stick humor balances the embarrassing predicaments and keeps everyone in a "merry" mood.

Performances will be held on Friday, September 3rd and Saturday, September 4th at 7:30 p.m., and on Sunday, September 5th at 2:00 p.m.

All performances are free and no tickets are required.  We do encourage you to bring a blanket or a chair for the outdoor performances.  In the event of rain, the performances will be held in the Community Room located in the Westfield Town Hall located at 425 East Broad Street, Westfield.
