Representatives of Rockn' Joe Franchise Systems in Cranford (www.rocknjoe.net) and 101.9 RXP in New York (www.1019rxp.com) today announced the two companies are partnering for joint promotions and charity fundraisers this fall.
"We found there was a lot of synergy between the radio station, which merges new music, classic rock & alternative, and our rock n' roll coffeehouses," said Kevin Brennan, CEO of Rockn' Joe Franchise Systems, which owns the Rockn' Joe Coffeehouse + Bistro brand. "We're both all about the experience, so it made sense for us to work together on these exciting projects."
The collaboration kicked off on 9/22, when 101.9 RXP and Rockn' Joe representatives were at the Cranford Train Station on Eastman Street from 6:30-7:30 a.m. to hand out cards for complimentary cups of coffee and access into an RXP "Secret Show." Similar events will be scheduled in October and November.
In addition, Rockn' Joe and 101.9 RXP will be sponsoring an acoustic concert series at the coffeehouse locations in Cranford, Westfield, Caldwell and Kendall Park, N.J. Up and coming musicians will be selected to perform, with the top bands featured on a compact disc the radio station will produce with Rockn' Joe.
Matt Dalton, a project coordinator for 101.9 RXP, said the co-branded CD sampler will focus on local talent who are about to break onto the national stage. All the proceeds from this limited-run CD, only available at Rockn' Joe, will be donated to Project Sunshine of New York.
"We are titling this CD `A Special Blend for A Special Cause,' as it will offer some great music and 100 percent of the proceeds will help a great cause," said Dalton, noting Project Sunshine is a non-profit group that provides free educational, recreational, and social programs to children facing medical challenges and their families.
Dalton noted the radio station will air announcements promoting the availability of the Limited Edition CD available at Rockn' Joe.
"We're excited to move forward with this partnership, as the possibilities are limitless," Brennan said. "This is really a great fit. Our customers at the coffeehouse really connect to the music played on 101.9 RXP, and we know their morning disc jockeys are fueled on Rockn' Joe coffee. We expect this to be a great ride."
