Town of Westfield
Westfield, New Jersey, formerly known as the West Fields of Elizabeth was settled in 1720 and was incorporated as a town in 1903. The community is nearly fully-developed, with a population of 29,155 (2000 Census).
Westfield is well known for its attractive, small-town environment, excellent school system, vibrant downtown shopping and activities. Conveniently located close to major highways and transportation, Westfield offers easy access to New York City, metropolitan New Jersey, and Newark International Airport.

Young adults who are deficient in basic literacy skills, juvenile offenders, teen parents, disabled or anyone facing barriers to employment may pick up an application for the One-Stop Career Centers located in Plainfield and Elizabeth in the Office of the Town Clerk between the hours of 8:30 am-4:30 pm Mon-Fri. For more info, contact the Community Center at 908 232-4759. If you are an employer interested in employing youths in these categories, please contact the Town Clerk's Office at 789-4033.
