Diners enjoyed lunch and dinner at some of downtown Westfield's best and trendiest restaurants during Restaurant Week, held February 19 through March 1 sponsored by Downtown Westfield Corporation (DWC). For the first time, participating restaurants could offer a $10, $20 or $30 menu-- a two-course lunch for $10, a two-course dinner for $20 or a three-course dinner for $30. In addition, Restaurant Week was offered for two weeks instead of one with Friday and Saturday excluded.
Participating restaurants included: 16 Prospect Wine Bar & Bistro, Acquaviva delle fonti, Ana Beall’s Tea Room, Boulevard Bistro, The Brick Oven, Cosimo’s, Gabi’s Sushi & Noodles, Isabella's American Bistro, Jeffrey's of Westfield, Limani Seafood Grill, Mojave Grille, Robert Treat Delicatessen, Splash of Thai, Theresa's, Turning Point, Wild Greens, and Xocolatz. Wine discounts were offered at CoolVines, The Liquor Basket and Westfield Wine & Liquor. Buy one, get one free desserts were offered at Bovella’s, Cold Stone Creamery, FroYo, Swirl Whirl Yogurt Buffet and Yapple Yogurt.
While the DWC is still obtaining feedback from the recent event, Limani Seafood Grill, owner George Vastardis shared that Restaurant Week went very well especially for lunch. “People really liked the menu and the value we offered.” Acquaviva delle fonti reported that they had “a very busy two weeks and saw many new customers.” Yapple Yogurt opened their doors to coincide with Restaurant Week and reported “a very strong grand opening.”
The Downtown Westfield Corporation will sponsor another Restaurant Week in the Fall, September 30 through October 11, 2012.
