CONTACT We Care in Westfield is New Jersey's mental health rescue squad. We are the 24-hour caring and crisis hotline offering the gift of listening to callers in need throughout New Jersey.

Part of a nationwide network of crisis hotlines affiliated with CONTACT USA and, internationally, with Lifeline International, CONTACT We Care is dedicated to preventing suicide and making a positive difference in people's lives. The service, provided by highly trained volunteers, is free and confidential.

CONTACT We Care is also a member of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, for which it answers calls to 1 (800) SUICIDE and 1 (800) 273-TALK. CONTACT is the primary responder to calls made to these national hotline numbers from many area codes within New Jersey.

Each year, CONTACT We Care answers more than 12,000 calls from individuals who are lonely, depressed, stressed or suicidal.

While we do not offer advice or professional counsel, we are there to listen actively, empathetically, and without judgment, believing that a person's ability to tell his or her story to an empathetic listener is the beginning of finding a solution to a troubling problem.
